Spider (Graceful Kelp) Crab



Spider/Graceful Kelp Crab (pugettia gracillis) – Seal Bay, Vancouver Island

Most commonly brown, yellow, or red, these crabs can also be white, orange, pink or blue.  They range from Alaska to California, and live in eelgrass or kelp beds in rocky areas near low tide zones.  They are a food source for a variety of fish.
